Dear Parents and Families,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this message of introduction to you as the new Principal of Doig Intermediate. My name is Loan Wu and I am extremely happy to join the community. I am very passionate about helping students maximize their potential and look forward to partnering with you to continue to provide our students with a high-quality educational experience. I feel very fortunate to be able to serve the Doig community in this capacity and I am excited to meet everyone.
Before joining the Doig Intermediate team, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles over the past 14 years. Some of the roles I have held include: social science teacher at Santiago High School, New Teacher Induction Mentor, Master Teacher, Teacher on Special Assignment in the 7-12 Instructional Office, and most recently Assistant Principal at Bolsa Grande High School. All of these roles have helped prepare me for the role of principal at Doig.
My academic background includes a Bachelors of Arts in History, Master of Arts in Education, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. The same values that we hope to instill in our students regarding lifelong learning is the approach that I have taken throughout my educational experience because of teachers that believed in me. Together, I am looking forward to providing our students with the academic and personal skills, students need in order to achieve lifelong success.
We know that these are uncertain times that bring a lot of emotions with it. I know our hearts go out to everyone that is hurting and while there is a high level of fear and anxiety in the world, we are also witnessing camaraderie, solidarity and inspiration everywhere we look. Given these unique circumstances, I am confident that with the creativity and collaborative spirit of our Doig team, we will continue to offer an amazing education and school culture that connects students and families with their school. Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would to share.
